The client has to provide a series of documents including identification, passport copies of shareholders and directors and utility bills. The name chosen for the company must be unique and the termination ‘LTD’ must be added onto it. The name must be registered by a registration office in Belize and the Memorandum of Association must contain the correct details of the company – authorised capital, details regarding shares, the purpose of the company, and the statement that it is a limited liability company. After submitting the Memorandum of Association, the company will receive a registration number and a registration certificate.
It takes about 3 days for the company to be finalised upon receipt of the documents. Shareholders can select the amount of share capital but it does not have to deposit. There are also no limitations regarding the nationality of the shareholders.
